Crowded teeth are more common than you might think. Many patients struggle with this problem, although too often they never seek proper treatment. When teeth are too close together, they become too difficult to properly clean, leaving patients at a higher risk of developing tooth decay and gum disease. With braces, even severe levels of crowding and misalignment can be made more even, giving teeth more space to line up correctly and comfortably.
Although quite common, misaligned bites such as overbites, underbites, crossbites, open bites, or dental midlines can prove extremely problematic if left untreated. When your bite is uneven, your teeth may stick out or rub against each other in ways that quickly wear down enamel, making them more susceptible to damage, sensitivity, and decay. Bite issues put additional pressure on jaw joints, which can lead to a sore, stiff jaw, and potentially more serious issues like TMJ disorder. Misaligned bites are often considered to be less aesthetically pleasing and can hamper the self-esteem and confidence of those affected. Luckily, braces can be used to address all of these issues and more! As a patient’s bite moves into proper alignment throughout treatment, many of these symptoms will significanlty diminish.
A gapped smile may leave patients not feeling the most confident in their smile or appearance. Gapped teeth are also more likely to collect food, plaque, and bacteria, putting patients at risk of a variety of oral health issues such as bad breath, cavities, and gum disease. Dr. Saxena and her team use braces in Austin, TX to eliminate the unnecessary spaces between teeth and help patients see a new and improved smile in no time.
When teeth are severely misaligned, patients may have trouble brushing their teeth properly. It might even be impossible for them to floss because their teeth are too tight or are overlapping. This can cause problems with the gums, resulting in gingivitis and even gum disease. Braces can help straighten teeth and keep them aligned, which can significantly help to keep the mouth healthy and clean. It is often easier for patients to brush and floss their teeth when they are straight and uniformly spaced rather than overlapping each other.

They are always friendly and efficient. Everyone there is knowledgeable and helpful. Was able to reschedule a couple days before and the staff (specifically the dental assistant) were extremely happy to help with any concerns I had.
